Our History
HBS was established in 1981, outside of Philadelphia, and during the next four years HBS installed numerous sites throughout the Philadelphia area with development insight coming from a local Pharmacy School. During the 1990’s HBS began a successful acquisition path that consisted of purchasing numerous software vendors and converting hundreds of their customers to the HBS platform. During that time, research and development at HBS focused on institutional pharmacy, mail order, and common profile (chain server) pharmacy systems.
In 2004, SXC Health Solutions Corp. (now our parent company) purchased HBS. As competitors, each company had a 25 year history of providing leading pharmacy software and services to help pharmacies run their businesses more efficiently.
Today, HBS continues to evolve as a leading pharmacy management services provider with over 1,800 clients nationwide.
